Naber wins the German Innovation Award for COMPAIR® BIXO
Naber has received the German Innovation Award 2020 from the German Design Council for its wall conduct technology COMPAIR® BIXO/BIXO Balance®. The combined exhaust and supply air wall conduct convinced the jury and now bears the distinction "Winner" in the category "Excellence in Business to Business – Building & Elements".
Only innovations which contribute to a better future receive the German Innovation Award, states the German Design Council. The innovation strategy has to take economic sustainability as well as technical quality and durability into account.
The wall conduct technology COMPAIR® BIXO/BIXO Balance® developed together with Prof. Dr. Werner Sobek of the University of Stuttgart makes kitchen ventilation systems with exhaust air possible even in high-quality efficiency houses. It has been certified by the Passive House Institute as a suitable component for low-energy buildings.
Optimum exchange of air
The COMPAIR® BIXO is the first wall conduct for exhaust air to feature a heat transfer coefficient (U-value) of only about 0.8 W/(m²K). That means that when closed, the duct is hermetically sealed thanks to a new type of closure mechanism including insulating air chambers.
As soon as the extractor hood is switched on, the electronic control unit opens the air duct steplessly and completely, thus providing for high efficiency even at low and medium power levels of the extractor hood. A radio signal - transmitted by the exhaust wall conduct – simultaneously opens up to three BIXO Balance® supply air wall conducts to ensure the optimum exchange of air in the room.
